Camp Activities & Sports

As our name depicts, we are primarily a martial arts training program. There is considerable time spent relating to the esoteric as well as the martial arts. Children train physically each and every day. In addition to the classical arts, we offer instruction and programs in Tai Chi, Yoga, Meditation, Chi Kung and gymnastic arts such as Wushu.

Other activities include swimming, archery, boating, acrobatics and a variety of field sports. The camp maintains a water ski boat on the Otis Reservoir. Weekly instruction in water skiing, knee boarding and wake boarding is part of the weekly activities. There is sufficient free time for our older campers and there usually are three out-of-camp trips scheduled per week. In addition, our camp van takes campers “to town” to visit the local country stores and ice cream stand.

Where we are a summer youth camp, we of course provide the traditional programming of camp fires, skits, capture the flag (with ninjitsu theme) and the like. Where we have no television, we do have a VCR for movie entertainment. We also have complete video recording equipment which serves as a training aid as well as for use by the campers in filming their own routines.

As with any camp, we too have our annual trips. There is a full camp trip to Riverside Park, Tubing on the Farmington River and the Bousquet Water Slide. We also have the ability for optional excursions to Tanglewood, Jacob’s Pillow Dance Theater and other cultural attractions offered in the Berkshires.
